Icon4 2015 Honda Odyssey EK-L - Shifting Rough

I recently purchased a 2015 Honda Odyssey EX-L with ~43k miles on it. I have noticed that at lower gears (1-4) it shifts very inconsistently, and rather rough. For example, when I am taking off from a dead stop, 1st gear will have very little power, and then surge into second. When I am on the highway or cruising at 50mph+ there is no issue. I get the same issue when it downshifts automatically while I am coasting at speeds less than 30mph. Solutions are vague across the board from transmission flush and fill to sensors and solenoids. Hoping to have a more educated experience with the dealer next time when they state that the van is fine. I even test drove a different 2015 odyssey to see how it drove for comparison and the shifting was much smoother and didn't jerk me at all. Very frustrated, any help is appreciated!

They won't cover software. Problem is that I have taken a service tech on a ride and it doesn't reproduce like it does while I'm driving. Was hoping someone else has experienced this and had solutions that worked for them.

Transmission adaptive learn is not perfect. Before you take the vehicle to a dealership, do some due diligence. If you do not do this you may convince yourself that you are in need of a repair when in fact you are not and may be intended operation.

Some basic things you need to tell us, because we cannot see your vehicle:

Does the instrument panel indicate any problems? (MIL on, etc)
Was there any major maintenance indicated by the previous owner?
Condition and level of the transmission fluid?
What was the use case from the last owner? Delivery driver?, Company van?
How much stuff do you carry in the vehicle regularly?
Do multiple people drive this van over the course of a week?

Precision in detailing the issue is key, if it only happens when the engine is first started and driven for the first 5 miles, this is important information.

This is 2018, videos and pictures go a VERY long way. If you think you have a melon, advertising what a comparison vehicle does and what yours does will go a very long way not only in diagnosis, but if it really is a lemon, a case for an exchange will be easier to make. Paperwork becomes very important at this stage.
