Piston choice 84x77 turbo.
Hallo guys.Im on the market for forged pistons for my B16.
The car will run 350-400 for some months and with bigger setup what ever we can hit on 84x77 B16 usind 93 octane (100 EU) + water meth.
So target will be at least 500whp. If i manage to hit 550 600 what ever we will manage to hit.
My head is milled 0.4mm and block other 0.3mm i can get another block if needed. but id like to keep my head.
Anyway.
Ill searched a lot and ill choose one of the below. If you have a better idea hit it.
The images i found from the real street performance.Very professional to have the actual fotos.
CP SC7002 classic piston. Good all round. Still has the valve pocket thin material spot or they changed it? Im almost sure i had cp pistons with the thin material milled straight from the shelf but i dont remember if they were 83 or 84 or even 82
price 665 euros
CP SC7017 I really like the small dish this piston has.Im not afraid of low compression at all since compressors are getting crazy.Again it has the crazy yolo valve pocket thin material "problem".
I know cp fixed this all problem somehow but you know. Detonation is a thing.
price 680 euros
Wiseco K623M84 i really like the price i can get on these pistons BUT im not sure they are so strong. They look bruce lee style. Weighting 296 grams only. Id really like to use these but im not sure they can handle it.
They have narrower skirt from the next piston. Also since these pistons are 10.5:1 on most b18/b20 and 9.5 only on b16 i dont think a lot of people tested them too...Id really like to find results for these...WHO USED THEM ??? :-)
price 550 euros
Wiseco K649M84 These are big *****. Wider skirt from the K623 .The heaviest piston (320g) on the list with longer pin and with the lowest compression ratio.~ 8.5:1. Again i can get a super good s300sxe compressor with crazy efficiency(look below).
Im not afraid to go very low on compression. This piston must probably tank everything. I believe the 0.2 inch wall pin does the job. on both wisecos.
price 605
Arias 3370000 These are unknown weight pistons with 29.85mm compression height -5.5cc giving ~9.3 compression. Arias lists them as "heavy turbo" . I really like the trimmed valve pocket. They must be very durable too.
If they really shine ill pay the extra cash no prob.
price ~750+ euros
The crazy s300sxe compressor. dear god very very good . At 2.4 pressure ratio (35 psi) it has average efficiency ~73% from 40 to 72 lbs/min.
The best compressor map i can remember. It will work with the lowest compression you can go.
Anyway what piston would you choose guys?
I hope you enjoyed the windows paint edited pictures
