Is it fairly straightforward to disconnect the filler neck tubing? I know there's a plastic cover over it underneath but haven't popped the clips off to inspect it yet.

Yesterday I washed my EJ1, only to forget that it was just a little below freezing and all the water froze on the car before I could dry it off. I cannot wait for spring to show up in my area.

Finished up the hardrace bushings kit swap. $90 for a local mechanic shop to press out old and new in. Haven't had time to test drive yet. Need an alignment done soon.

The muffler snapped off at the flange on Sunday, so I went and picked up a new Walker SoundFX muffler from O'Reillys. The donut gasket is more like a hub centric ring than a regular exhaust gasket.
Messed with adjusting the timing. I think my timing light was unhappy about being used after 25 years, and decided it was done.
RainX'ed the windshield for the next storm coming in.
Then discovered that the door lock is sticking out 'cuz there's only the back bolt holding it in. And no bolt laying in the bottom of the door. So many missing bolts and popits on this car!

Installed new hood prop rod clip. (I know my brake master cylinder is low on brake fluid. I suctioned fluid out to test fit a rotor. New brakes arrive Friday.)

Awesome post, love the pics and detail for such a simple yet functional and in my opinion, necessary piece. Random question- mine is half broke and I want to replace it but I don't think you can access the back side of that clip, is that correct? Did yours break clean off, or did you just end up pushing the remnants down in the hole? I might also use some tweezers and a dremel or a drill to try and prevent it from dropping down in there, but I think it's beveled and if I break it or hack it off I'll probably lose the bottom down in there.

Mine was broken when it was removed to do the paint/body for the shock tower extensions. a tiny piece fell down in the fender well, and hit the ground because the liner was also pulled in efforts to coat all the undersides of the welds, etc.

I'm SOOOO butt hurt and salty right now. It's embarrassing but I can't deny it.
My pops has ~40 years of paint and collision repair experience. Yes, they're specific to collision repair. The clamps are so cool. The clamp eyelet is attached to a wedge that's positioned behind the bolt holds the clamp together. As you pull on the eyelet, the wedge increases the clamping pressure of the jaws. So simple. So cool. Less than 50 lbs of force on the end of the pipe pulled all the damage out and hammering the pinch points relieved all the residual stresses.
