STC dbb hunter turbo + db8 gsr = grocery gettin street car build
Damned E85. I made over 580whp on a 255 Walboro, stock fuel lines and wiring.. But that was on C16. (Higher BTUs) . No methanol, no other nonsense on simple 850cc Siemen Dekas...
Uggh. I don't give a **** how cheap that fuel is, it fools people into believing you can do more with less work.. Meh.. I'm just old, and keep it simple, I guess.

Damn. Always #3 lol
Probably the limit of the sleeves no matter what happened. Would have easily been no problem if it was a sleeved motor.

Damn man. Dont you have A/F gauge up front so you could see it getting outta control? Or better yet your protection settings in hondata that would have stopped that? I guess we know the rest of the setup was good though huh lol.
you gonna rebuild it?
you gonna rebuild it?
Thanks guys. It's tuned with Neptune rtp and unfortunately there is no lean protection option. It would've been fine had I not pushed it so hard with only a 255 pump. Yeah I plan to rebuild it, hopefully with sleeves next time around. Still need to decide exactly where to go from here, but I'm definitely not giving up.
I have it it stripped down to a bare block now and took a few more pics of the carnage. I'm surprised these cast pistons didn't break into a million pieces lol. All the bearings look good, along with the crank and rods, but I'm going to have a machine shop check over the crank and rods to be sure. Even the water pump is cracked lol.

That sucks man! Been lurking your build for awhile, very inspiring. Actually I bought a STC dbb hunter partially based on your testimony in this thread although I'm using it for a different purpose entirely - autoX and roadracing but mostly a street build. GL with your build I'll be waiting to see what direction you take!
There wasn't much he was going to be able to do even if he had one.. maybe (.02% chance) shut the motor off just before it grenaded, but, 90% of people's reflexes just aren't that fast by the time it's noticed. For something like this, he'd was better off concentrating on the tarmac and not crashing into something vs, staring at a gauge. IT's the difference between theory and practical muscle memory.
If you decide to go with a sleeved block hit up Locash Racing. Joe will get you all setup with a sleeved block for a good deal.
. I've had the same GE HD sleeved block since 2004, baby!! Rebuilding the engine this year (under my own volition) after over 35 HPDE and Time Attack events. Only lost once cylinder head at over 350whp-580whp.
Yeah I've been on my GE sleeved block since 2012.
Thanks man I'll check them out when I'm ready. I'm 99% sure I'm going with a sleeved block this time around, just gotta have some patience and save up a little to do it right the first time.

Dang man that is a bummer. I started my build after reading yours, mine build stopped when we were looking at buying a house. I contemplated selling it all off for some extra coin. Glad I didn't.
Get a sleeved block and turn it up!

Not really, I’ve kinda lost motivation for the time being. I did end up stripping all my parts off the car and the shell is currently for sale and I bought a 92 eg coupe that I will be swapping everything over to. This one will be more of a dedicated race car, probably with a cage and all. I’m sure I’ll find some motivation before too long and start working on it again. Maybe I’ll even make a new build thread...
Yes Nippon p30 pistons. Pretty good for the money imo.
