STC dbb hunter turbo + db8 gsr = grocery gettin street car build
Time for a new build thread. I picked up a bone stock 96 4 door gsr for a good deal. Bought it from an older lady who had it 9 years, she was the second owner. I'm pretty sure she never even engaged vtec in this thing lol. This car is the perfect base for this build. I was originally looking for a clean EK coupe to build and had a couple deals fall through. When I saw this db8 I jumped on it. Its so refreshing to see a car that hasn't been messed with by some ricer kid lol. Goals are just a fun street car with a good power band and traction. Only looking to make ~350whp on a stock jdm gsr with arp headstuds. IMO this is a good amount of power for a street car, but not so much that it's constantly breaking. This isn't exactly going to be a daily driver, but it will see a lot of street time. I already ordered a jdm gsr swap from hmotorsonline with low miles so I'm going to swap that one in with arp headstuds. The original gsr is coming out and will be getting build after I get bored and want more power.
Parts list
jdm gsr with arp headstuds
jdm gsr trans with helical lsd
skunk2 pro series intake manifold
STC dbb hunter turbo .63ar turbine housing (thanks Mac!)
spoolin performance quick4 non ac mini ram
turbosmart hypergate 45 wg
ID1000cc injectors
walbro 255lph hp fuel pump
omni 3 bar map
tr10 intercooler
p28 ecu with demon 2 (I'll be street tuning it on neptune rtp)
mac valve for bbg
tkeller 3" mandrel bent exhaust kit
I plan to fab my own intercooler piping, dp, and wg dump
skunk2 pro s2 full coilovers
ES motor mount inserts (all 5 mounts)
ES bushings
Cooling system
tucked scirocco aluminum dual pass radiator
speedfactory filler neck
12" spal fan with 40amp relay
Most of the parts listed above are already ordered. I plan on starting the tear down asap.
Here are some pics of the car...
Oh and my first part showed up today lol (thanks again Mac)
Here is a link to my last build thread if anyone is interested

I always do it this way but I take the head and transmission off replace clutch, headgasket and arps anyway

These are the option we picked for the turbo. Basically it's good for the 300whp-460whp range.
-dual ball bearing chra
-.63ar t3 turbine housing
-to4e compressor cover
-high temp black coating
Mac would need to chime in for wheel measurements and details.

This thing looks even better in person
Oil feed line, oil restricter, and inline oil filter to protect that hunter turbo.
Skunk2 pro series in black
Front lower control arm bushings in
Ended up with skunk2 pro s2 full coilovers for a really good deal.
Painted my wheels black and mounted the new rubber. Toyo r888 in 225/50-15 up front and neogens out back.
And got the engine bay almost all the way back together.
