New bumpers plugs.
How can you absolutely just not love anything that comes prepainted from Honda....
Prepping door panels, cleaned, conditioned, and sealed. All new clips installed for a rattle free install.
Everything getting a once over.
New rear washer nozzle
And joint
Door panels clips for days
new speakers brackets to get rid of those aftermarket speakers.
Brand New oem speakers baby. Mmmm **** sound quality here we come.
Door awaiting panel.
New Mirror covers
And that was enough for Sunday. Back at it again later this week.

So some jackass installed an aftermarket sound system in here at some point in this caR's life and destroyed all the floor harness clips.
Unfortunately the clips can't be replaced, so I went to the local junkyard and picked up some new holders and never broke the clips... incredible how things work when you take some pride in your work.
Garage is an absolute disaster at the moment.
Beautiful and perfect again. New carpet ready should be installed in the next couple of days.
Hatch cover cleaned and reinstalled.

Big thumbs up for the dedication to OEM restoration!

We are quite lucky to have access replacement parts from junk yards.

I can only imagine this carpet is pushing 20 years old
😍
Perfect finishing touch for the interior.
Straight from Japan a few years ago.
Oh yeah the holy grail.
Another angle. I will most likely go over it with a steam cleaner once it's installed just to make it absolutely perfect.
Door panels on last weekend forgot to post pictures.

Unfortunately after we laid the carpet. My dumbass got my *** up off the floor, stood up and realized the styrofoam that goes around the shifter is still sitting on top of my M3. That's when I decided to call it a night. Tonight I will try and sneak that in there without having to yank the carpet from the car.

New side sills.
All new clips for ecu cover.
New clips for side sill covers
Another one.
New clips for rear quarter interior panels.
Was fortunate enough to find a brand new right side panel, wasn't as lucky with the left but found a decently clean one at the junkyard. Reason for replacing them if some asshat had them out at some point and almost all the clip mounting points were broken.
Love brand new OEM parts.
😍
Amazing.
Interior coming along.
More clips for rear panels.
New trunk back panel. Old one was scratched up beyond repair.
Clips for trunk panel.
Brand new dead pedal.
😍
New top steering Column cover. Somebody had an led installed in it for the old alarm.

Damn, no messing around!

Just curious, did you do anything with the fan assembly, heater core etc while the car was apart? I know how much junk was in my wife's low mileage RSX the first time I pulled the cabin air filter, so I wondered how many people go to the point of cleaning the air ducts when they do a newer car to this level. The old Euro cars I worked on, if we were going to this level we removed and cleaned or replaced all of that stuff as well.

Attention to detail overload! Wow, great work. When you're finished it may as well be a new car. Kudos Sir.

FYI....The adhesive on the plastic door panel liners is supposed to go all the way around so that water is directed into the door shell which has drain holes at the bottom rather than leaking out between the shell and the panel. Butyl rope works very well for this as it sticks well and is easy to remove without ripping stuff later on if you need to. Lowes sells a giant roll of it for like $6.

spotted this too and wondered. Didn't like to say anything in case I was wrong but what you say makes sense.

more importantly if he took it off he would have seen that the original sealer goes all the way around and that would be the best way to go with the new stuff.

i did not go quite that far. However last night when I was giving the engine Bay its final rinse, and the blower motor was exposed through the cowl it got a cleaning.

thanks man we are aware, what was pictured was just a mock up as we weren't sure if it had to come off again which it did because we were experiencing issues with both window regulators from what we can only assume because the car sat dead for five years.

Let the car outside to breathe for a bit. Rinsed it all off. Cleaned the engine Bay to relieve all the dust sitting in there from the body shop. K
Also took all the wheels off, cleaned up the wells and got rid off all the old undercoating that was hanging on for dear life. Tonight suspension and brakes come out and we start undercoating and preparing for new suspension and brakes.
Got to work on the rear seats.
Suede brush
Finished product. Also used the steam cleaner on here.

Oooooh what a mess let's fix it.
Couldn't believe how easily the factory undercoating comes off.
All new bumper brackets and gaskets.
Crash bar installed.
Brand new oem crash bar absorber.
Ok.... I know some of you may not approve. But..... I don't care haha oem halogen lights are an absolute NoNo!! I purechaed two brand new sets of oem headlights... one to save in storage brand new in box, the other was retrofitted with MoriMoto D2S 3.0 Projecrs, the lights are lit up using MoriMoto Ballasts which are plug and play into the oem harness which power up some badass Osram Bulbs.
Ballast installed onto Crash Bar
Harness ran and plugged into oem connector looks factory.
Testing.. look at that Cut-Off, yes I understand the oem halogens have a decent cutoff off too, but the light output is simply ****.
Ok quick mock up with the bumper. It was all taken off again but a good idea of what the beauty will look like. I cannot wait.

Beautiful build man. Are you just sourcing your parts from your local dealer?

OO nice Honda garage!

I was just thinking yesterday a new set of head lights will be needed for my exterior restoration. (Collecting parts for a full restoration one day).

Do you recall how much the OEM head lights were?

Brand new oem upper control arms.
Ol let's begin.
Another one of the very few aftermarket components going onto this car. Kw V2 coilovers. Wanted to get the car to sit a bit more to my standards and in all honesty... I have kw in four other of my vehicles, I know they will ride nicer than the old tired oem suspension.
Brand new oem top mounts.
Bunch of new suspension hardware. Won't bore you guys with that.

Nice suspension. I love the jdm oem suspension. There's always the option of mugen low downs or the spoon springs/shocks.
