Hi all, still in the middle of my B16 rebuild and today the machine shop who installed my previous Darton sleeves back in 2008 called me up and said while boring the block to fit the new Sleeves there is now a little hole where the bolt for timing belt tensioner fits.
According to them the install manual says this could happen with some blocks and it recommends the use of a silicon or similar filler in that hole.
I don't have pictures yet but will pick up the block on Saturday, anyone experienced this before?
The only difference Icould think of between the two engines is that the B16 I had done in 2008 was a UK engine while the one working on now is a JDM B16 from a 1993 Del Sol and was imported into the UK around 2004.
Picked it up yesterday after another 160 miles round trip to the machine shop. I painted it early this morning before dropping it to the builder this week, see last picture at the bottom with red arrows.
