Default Evo 9 Turbo On H22A & F20B ?

Need some help with mounting Evo 9 turbo onto F20B

Evo 9 gasket on f20b, the Evo gasket is 3mm bigger the actual evo manifold so that will help
Thinking about making an 25mm sandwich plate to transitioning the port difference together ?

How mush those it cost to have a cylinder head exhaust ports and stud pattern spec'd ?

Also whats cost to have a evo 9 manifold then cnc machined to match the honda h22a ports and stud pattern ?

You make your own manifold like Cabletie did on the other thread called "b16a2 turbo".

Cabletie's b16 Evo 9 build

It's not a question of cost. It's a question of fabrication ability. TigArt used to make B-series manifolds and flanges for that stud pattern for the Evo 9 turbocharger. Being in Israel, you can imagine that cost was an issue in the U.S. Market.

So the answer is, you DON'T use the manifold at all. You use a F20 manifold flange (or make one from the gasket) and make you're own manifold, or drill the Evo9 manifold to fit.

Biggest problem is the alternator on the F20B being on the opposite side as opposed B18 engines.
I know innovative make a alternator relocation bracket.

Thinking about buying cheap evo 10 manifold and modifying it like Cabletie's https://honda-tech.com/forced-induct...turbo-3213078/ ,as this I believe will move the turbo to the right and flip mounting position so the compressor will be on the RH side similar to an evo 3 / dsm 2g.

Will the evo 10 manifold work better ?

This adapter seem like maybe the answer ?

It will flip the turbo 180 degrees putting the compressor on the RH side and offsetting it away from the block possibly 20-30mm

-DSM EVO 8 to EVO 8 allows the turbo to be rotated 180* so you can have the turbine or the compressor housing swap sides without modifying the intercooler system or exhuast. The flange is 3/4" thick and this allows you to have a smooth transition between the two angles but still keeping the lobes seperate. The holes are tapped M10 X M1.5mm.

Just flipped the turbo = no good

Angle is to mush, turbo is kicked out a lot

Maybe a wedge size adaptor with a angle to correct this might work

Again, this is where many of us would have just had the manifold mocked / fabbed up vs. 50 different adapters to try. But that's just me. Cowboy-up and innovate to impress yourself (and us.. But we're not as important, really.

You have a unique engine placement with a completely different manifold placed in an area that it wasn't designed for; and on top of that have a unique wastegate location and configuration.

I'm afraid you won't get any answers here for this. This is good ole' fashioned gumption and trial-error, if you don't have the means/resources to fabricate. Honestly, this is what this forum was founded on; the ability to be creative for the unknown /unpopular setups and educate yourself and others about how you did it. That's how this forum stays technically relevant and interesting.

when/if you figure this portion out, please let us know, so we can see about if there other ideas that can piggy-back off of it, so others can participate.

Good luck to you.. Keep us posted.

It would be nice if something would actually work without going all out and making a new manifold and surely someone has done this before and can comment.

I think I will just buy a EFR7163 or EFR7670 and fabricate a new manifold from scratch, there is no point mucking around with a small Evo turbo if it's not going to mount easy.

For me is not so fun when it breaks the bank to boost......But I guess nothing come easy or cheap in this world

Nope. Never easy. Again, the whole Evo 9 /B-series Honda phenomenon started around 2010-2011. TigArt did the manifolds, as well as a company called ToxicFab (still in business). For an F20B being as unique as it is, you would have been the 1st to do it.

If you're looking for that kind of responsiveness and at the same time keep it with an EFR, you're better off with a 6758 or smaller. A 7670 is larger than a TR3030R or GTX3067R (Not the GTX3076R, that's a completely different turbo.) and much less responsive overall.

You may want to better match your purpose with the turbocharger before your selection, or it will be an expensive mistake indeed.
