True, but for example I'm going to be using Crome. However, the 2-step Crome uses is only a fuel cut 2-step vs a MSD 2-step which has both a fuel and ingnition cut which allows you to build boost at the line. This is the only reason why I'm tempted to get the MSD.

Anyone have experience with either the crome 2step vs the MSD?</TD></TR></TABLE>

Sorry for my lack of posting in a very long time (due to a country move)...but I have lots of experience with both a fuel bases ecu cutoff (such as hondata) and using an msd box with a 2-step limiter.
I would never use a fuel-cut only system with a big turbo car (and neither do the majority of drag cars). Cutting fuel instantaneously might play a role in quickly heating a cylinder due to the sudden lean condition - this might be argued by some, but i have seen it happen. An ignition cut on the other hand will allow fuel to still flow and is much safer as an option. I'm not saying that using a fuel cut only will cause u to blow your motor, but why bother with it when u could use the ignition box (especially since the cars this matters to...ie high hp cars...will have an upgraded ignition already).
Last year I installed and tested a msd ingition box with 2-step plus ignition retard...and it is no lie that u can make boost on the line. The problem is that retarding timing at launch causes the fuel mixture to actually igniting late (somewhere in your exhaust manifold/turbo area). This is what will eventually results in aiding spool up...but it also has the opportunity to cause damage to your turbo in the process.
Ignition 2-step with retard function is the best option for drag racing for sure...but the timing retard is risky in some respects.

I don't completely agree the idea that stock cams are always best, mainly in relation to using type s/f20b cams vs stock. The overlap and duarion is not largely different than stock (but lift certainly is...which can allow more air to enter/exit). I tested both earlier and results and cam specs can be seen at the link below:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1708418
With proper gearing, and additional cam gear adjustments (not shown on my dyno graphs), the f20b/type s cams can provide more power up top, and might be a good option for many.

Thank you Sir ...I've actually went that route and bought the box and a 3step. I'll be looking at the ignition retard soon as well.

Whats your setup? Working on my turbo build at the moment. What turbo do you get and when does it start to boost?

I would think with a built bottom end, you could be up in the 400's safely.

he should depending on his fuel management injectors etc. and also his manifold.

A fully build bottom end, sleeved and the whole 9 can handle ALOT more then 400.

one thing to remember is for that price the greddy kit does not come with a intercooler also you will need some to tune it with. 7-8 could be safe or could be catastrophic really just depends on the shape of the motor and the tune that goes with it all.

suck! if u r satisfied with 230-240hp i dont even think u can squeeze that much out of it......u can do this with the JRSC unit cmon and plus no intercooler
