On June 6, 2011 I paypalled damndan23 $500 usd for a set of Drive Shaft Shop Axles he had posted forsale. I communicated with him back and forth prior to the payment through PM's on here. He said he would do $450 plus shipping. I offered $500, and we made a deal. He told me to paypal the money to him as a gift, so he wouldn't get charged the 3%. I did so, and was charged the extra $5. No big deal.

Immediately after I paypalled him the money, I PM'd him to say that I did so. I also posted in his FS thread that payment was sent and he posted that they were confirmed sold.

The next day, he sent me a text message saying that he screwed up and two people, both from Canada, sent the payment for the axles. He said he had accepted the paypal payment but would refund the money back right away to me since the other person paypalled him first.

I still have not seen any refund.

He keeps telling me he is in a real tough time, and has no cash. Just got another job, and promises he will pay me back as soon as he gets the money.

My question is, why would you even accept 2 payments in the first place, let alone than go use the money for other stuff, and scam me out of $500.

This is the first time I have been scammed on here. I have not bought another thing since. Before this issue, I bought quite a bit of stuff off of HT.

I have his cell number, his email address for paypal and email that goes directly to his phone. Lately he has not been on here or replying to my Texts or Emails. So, I figure it is time now to post this so he doesn't **** anybody else over.

this. the only time i will EVER send payment as a gift is if i personally know the seller. its a shame you have to so careful when buying parts on here.

Update: I have got a few texts back. Still claiming to have no money. And to have pushed his limit on Paypal. Sounds like bullsh*t to me, but I don't know.

I was shocked to hear this, I don't personally know the guy, but I did buy a Full-Race twin scroll top mount from him. Everything went as it should and the manifold was delivered as promised. As you know those aren't cheap, and he didn't do me wrong at all. I hope everything works out for you and you guys get this resolved. Good luck with it.
