should i buy this Civic Hatch for sale?
hey guys, i checked out a 95 civic hatch 5spd at a junk yard today with 111k miles on it with a bright yellow paint job, lowered, greddy headers, DC strut bar, and exhaust. The bottom right of the front window is smashed, the interior is pretty dirty but no rips in the seats, both headlights are gone, no intake, and it has a few scratches. theyre asking 2500$ for it.
what im asking is should i buy it n fix it up, or is it a bad deal? i need to find out more info on it since its at the junk yard, but they said its just a used car (not sure if they ment it was in a accident or not, doesnt look like it was) and it runs....lemme know what you think...thanx guys

If you gonna swap the engine, you don't have to care about the current engine condition and looked at the body carefully make sure there is no rust or any major damage. It will be better that you can get around $2000, since it's from the junk yard. Also ask that the car has a CLEAR TITLE...

Yeah, deffinately see about the title. My car has a salvage title, it was a theft recovery, but there were no problems at all. Clean, strait, and shiny original paint. 4000 for a 94 si. But anyways, see how cleanable everything is. If you plan on doing a swap, I'd just get something else, because you could get a cx or dx shell with a bad engine for like 1000-1500. If you're serious about it, go over and check out the body. see if there's been any bodywork done, knock on probable spots like you would for a knot in wood, and see if there's been much bondo work done. What engine does it have in it? If it's pretty clean and the body's good and it runs?-I'd go for it. You'll probably end up doing a swap or paint job on any car you get anyways, but this one is already built up a little. I dunno, light can be pretty expensive too, unless someone hooks you up...

believe me jsut because there are alot of ad's for 92-95 HB's doesnt mean its easy to buy them...i've had numerous occasions of calling 1 day after the ad has been placed and it already sold.. ive been screwed over many times with my EG buying quest... however i was lucky to find people who would wait a couple days for me ( even when people asked to look at it the night before i scheduled, they postponed since they knew my troubles...really really nice people) i picked up a 94 CX clean title great great condition with 100K for 3K

Re: should i buy this Civic Hatch for sale? (IM ALL SHO)
i've been looking for one for my daily driver and i've had no luck finding any... if it looks like it's solid except for the small repairs get it. if the parts you need are alot of $$$ then it might be best to keep looking.

im pretty sure the motors a cx...the body looks fine, but i didnt ask(didnt have much time there) i wanna go back and find more info on it. the front headlights are out and the right side on the front bumber is a little ripped off...i was told that cx's have only 70hp stock so i was thinkin maybe its not a good idea...i would do a motor swap, but i have little money n i know if i kept pouring money into the thing it would just be a waste. i dunno its a hard decision...thats why i posted it up
there was also another hatch there...5spd, 155k miles, stock everything, better interior, its a dx so i think its 103hp or sumthin like that, and scratches all over the paint...theyre asking 2800$ so im thinkin there might be sumthing wrong with the body or stuff that i cant see...ill find more info on it...if you guys can still give me your opinions thatd be great. thanx
