A friend has an ITR and an EF civic. If you guys had the choice to build one for all out racing (the car just has to be under 2.0L and no forced induction, anything else like sus, tyres is free) which one is the better one to build up?

He's already got a plan on how to build each car. It's just that he doesn't know which one to build up.

By "all out racing" what exactly do you mean? Drag, autox, club racing, NASA, World Challenge, etc?

00ps, road racing... for Touring Car Club, time trials, basically anytime of road roacing.

I would go with the EF...

Although the R is fun too, but we are a dying breed.

I would use the R. Esp since you live in Cali. Keep the thing off the street where it will just be stolen and put it to some good use.

Now .. couple of things to consider. Are you willing to take the knife to the car? 4 point roll bar at least, but should probably do a full cage. Also .. is the R competitive in the classes that they have?

If not .. run the Civic.

The EF weighs less. So all else being equal, it will be faster. Since you state the mods are unlimited (except power adders), all else is equal. And the EF is worth less, therefore less painful to the wallet when balled up.
