i'd look into a 99, 2000 F150.
they can be had for really cheap and should have enough ***** to tow the rex.
cherokee is another good suggestion. however, Jeep reliability is sketchy, at best.

I know it will have enough ***** to tow a rex as well as an enclosed trailer with tools, tires and such. The problem is cost and local availability, the generic term "cheap" does not tell me anything as cheap is always relative to your perspective. Not many cowboys in Vegas are willing to give up their full-sized rigs for pocket change, and that's about all I have at the moment ($5k, roughly).

i'm always surprised at all the late-ish model F150's i see in LA for about 5000 bucks.
they're a little sparse on the options, but they're also not 20 year old beaters w/ tons of problems lying in wait.
a mid 90's fullsize should run 5k or less. if you're patient enough you will prob find a 98, 99 f150/rado for maybe a grand more.

you're not going to find anything with super low miles for $5000, but you can usually find something that will tow for that amount:

Re: (nonsense)
IMO, I don't see any reason not to make this car street legal and save your $$$ on a trailer and tow vehicle. Seems like this car will be in SM, and probably way underprepped anyway. Just work on suspension and keep everything street legal. Register it, drive it, enjoy it.
ALSO, stop doing whatever it is that annoys the "metro" and you won't have any problems.

i considered the older F150
for a cheap towing vehicle. But they have terrible crash tests. The newer ones
are better.

Re: What should I get to tow my CRX? (APEX CRX)
i'd say drive it. most of the Vegas autocrosses are 30mins from almost everywhere in the city.
and i can't say i remember seeing a red hatch at any recent autocrosses....
OR
rent five guys from the front of Home Depot each morning before the autocross and have them tow it that way.

Well, I do live near the HD on Pecos and Patrick, I think I can get a few south of the border types to pull it for cheap
As for the red hatch, an 88 STD with the OEM D15B1 and 4spd, she is dead and gone with major front end structural damage as well as a blown motor last December. She was sold to another H-T guy and has moved onward to a front end swap and a GSR, more than I could afford to do at the time.
The CRX was originally purchased to be a daily driver, but the SOHC ZC is way too much fun for just street use cruising up and down Sunset Rd looking for tickets! With the issues I have been having with the damn thing not starting recently and all the stuff I want to change (bad ground wire, faulty sensors, incorrect ECU, removing the ricer fart-can exhaust and other crap), I may hold off on the racing until I move out to CA next year unless I can get some electrical gremlins and legalize her for street duty again.
BTW, Driven... I have a friend that says she knows you from the SCCA (she drives a Gray 2002 Neon with the front grille cut out, ran GS at the time), and she likes what you have done to your Yellow CRX.
