Although reading the SCCFORUMS makes me happy IF they decide to make removing AC illegal.
I always thought that STS was typical road/daily driving car with the typical HUMAN BEING amenities. IE: AC, cruise control, comfy seats, stock interior. But adding in the typical aftermarket upgrades: coilover suspension, intake, short shifter, exhaust, header, and sway bars.

Ok so I went to an auto cross event this past weekend and I was talking to on of the other drivers in STS he said that the ASR sub frame brace might not be allowed but that no will say anything because we have them.
Then we started to talk about what he was doing next to his car a 1996 Integra LS he said that he will be putting a gsr head off a 1996 Integra. So my question is. Is exchanging parts from the same model allowed? And If I convert my car to a 99 Civic Si will that be allowed if I still want to run in STS?

Hey man, I was one of the other guys you were talking to. I looked over the rules, and I don't see any update/backdate rules in ST or stock (which ST inherits) that would allow swapping heads.
Instead I see a lot of language like this:
"Except for modifications authorized below, Stock Category cars must
be run as specified by the factory with only standard equipment as
defined by these Rules. This requirement refers not just to individual
parts, but to combinations thereof which would have been ordered
together on a specific car." (from the stock class rules)
"Alternate components which are normally expendable and considered
replacement parts (e.g., engine and wheel bearings, seals, gaskets,
filters, belts, bolts, bulbs, batteries, brake rotors, clutch discs,
pressure plates, suspension bushings, drivetrain mounts, etc.) may
be used provided they are essentially identical to the standard parts
(e.g. have the same type, size, hardness, weight, material etc.), are
used in the same location, and provide no performance benefit." (from stock class)
"Engine and transmission must remain unmodified, including emissions
equipment, except as noted below:" (from ST rules)
Replacement of cylinder heads is not listed in any of the "as noted below" items. I think it's pretty clear that his LS/VTEC plans would not be STS legal.
Regarding your car, this is in the stock class rules:
"Option package conversions may be performed between specific
vehicles of a particular make and model, but only between
configurations from within a particular model year. Such conversions
must be totally complete and the resultant car must meet all
requirements of this Section. Alternate parts listed in a factory parts
manual are not authorized unless their use is specifically referenced
in the factory service manual or in a service bulletin for the specific
model.
See Sections 3.8 and 8.3.1 for documentation requirements."
So converting to an SI would seem to be allowed, but it has to be a 100% complete conversion, indistinguishable from an SI that came from the factory.

It's legal to remove from your car, since it was available without A/C from the factory and thus could be run in stock class without A/C.
Even if the A/C delete rule goes away (as has been put out for member comment), you will still be allowed to remove it in your 1989 Civic (though the option to remove just part of the system goes away).
Edit: I see Jack Black got to that before I did.
