Offset/Backspacing on diamond wheels
Did a search but still have some ??

Have on the car right now, 94 dx coupe, OEM front discs and EX/GSR rear discs. Rota 16x7 slip's, 40mm offset. Now let me see if i have this right. 0mm offset is at 3.5" backspace on a 7" wheel. Now 40mm is 1.57", so my backspacing on a 40mm wheel is about 5", Right? The 13x8 diamond wheels i'm looking to get should be ok with a 5" backspacing or is the smaller diameter going to cause problems due to control arms. Also, what about the rear brakes. DX front should clear ok, OEM wheels are 13". The splash shield is what i'm concerned about.
What is the torque ring on a wheel. Is this the flat patch on the wheel that comes in contact with the rotor itself? Saw the comments about size and breakage and it got me to thinking. There is a visual difference in the size of the "hat" section between the front rotors and rear. The front are what might be to small. Should i just get the plates from the thread at diamond and not worry about it. What your thoughts. Thanks Todd

What's the diameter on the rear discs? As far as the OEM fronts, 5" will definitely work. Or, you could just buy my 13 x 9" Diamonds with 4" backspacing for $100 plus shipping.
P.S. They're powdercoated gloss black and in fantastic shape. I just don't need them anymore.

All 4 of course!
I'm not trying to make a lot of money on them or anything... I just don't need them anymore and they're taking up space in the garage. People have sold me parts they were getting rid of in the past for great deals. Thought I'd do like that cheesy movie and "pay it forward".
One interesting thing about them is that 4" is less back spacing than people normally go for, but (i've had 2 or 3 co-drivers comment on this too...) the backspacing feels "good" somehow. I went to 5" back spaced 13 x 9's (RS Racing), and I liked the handling characteristics of the car better with the Diamonds. I'm hoping it's just a matter of getting used to the new wheels since I paid a lot more for them! I guess it's very subjective, but they definitely weren't the "cone catchers" a lot of people thought they would be.
I live in the Oklahoma City area... Feel free to IM me for details, pics, etc.
edit: the wheels weigh 14.5 lbs each.

To be honest with you, i don't know the diameter on the rears. Looking at the car threw the slipstream spokes at a distance, the rotor are both about the same size. The caliper on the rear is smaller but the splash shield is far bigger than the front. Looks like i'll pull them, do some minor mods, paint and replace. Might hit the junkyards also. Thanks for the help.
