Re: The Official Formula 1 2010 Season Thread
Ponyboy sent me a PM on October 18th, telling me that at the conclusion of the Abu Dhabi GP that I can make the thread whenever I felt like it. I put a lot of time into the first post, not only to give frequent readers of this thread something to look at, but to inform outsiders on the current state of the sport.
This season has also been unique with the number of uncertainties that still exist at the conclusion of the season. There are more vacancies than usual, and the four new teams have barely released anything on their upcoming campaigns...not one of them has a fully functioning website.

Re: The Official Formula 1 2010 Season Thread
De La Rosa is waiting, there's a slim chance he might end at Mclaren if Kimi doesn't sign with them.
I have been reading several sources, and each one says a different thing about the 2nd Campos F1 seat. Basically the only fact is that Bruno Senna will race with them.

Re: The Official Formula 1 2010 Season Thread
Considering Campos is new in F1 I retract my statement about PDLR and instead would say that the Campos line-up would more likely end up as Senna-Petrov. Senna is confirmed and PDLR has way too much experience under his belt to pay for his seat. At this point Campos needs all the money they can get from outside drivers so the guy who brings the most money will get the 2nd seat. Petrov alone has £15 million ready not counting anyone that would want to back him and match that.
Another reason I think Petrov is a better choice is simply the fact that he has experience with the team. He's been a Campos driver for 2 years(?) now, falling into place wouldn't be a problem there. Besides that, his performance, he went up from 28th to 2nd in the GP2 championship in 4 years, he's a good driver and getting better.

I'm surprised that no there is almost no talk of Paul di Resta , in 06 he beat Vettel for the Formula 3 championship and in his second year of dtm nearly won the championship.

Re: The Official Formula 1 2010 Season Thread
Outstanding starting post Dustin! Didn't know that about the Super Aguri designer.
I came across this on auto-sport where Ross discusses the performance of their car over the season why it was what it was.
"It was a season of two halves," explained Brawn. "I think you have got our car which was probably on average the strongest car in the first half, and their car was probably the strongest in the second half. That's it, really.
"I think some of the decisions they made in terms of the layout of the car that have given them an advantage now, were probably difficult to manage in the first part of the year. I think some of the compromises we had to make to fit the engine, which weren't apparent in the first half, are now starting to hurt us.
"The car is too heavy, the center of gravity is too high, and there are things which are not good on the car which will be fixed for next year. You can't put an engine in a car in six weeks when it normally takes six months, without making some compromises."

I didn't say who I adored, I stated who I sense will win and winning the championship is made up of many components: driver, car, team…..driver alone will never pull off the win.

I love it. No more worries of cars and crew catching fire, or the crew getting closelined again. It's also a great challenge for engineer's to manage a way to squeeze all race fuel into the cars. And not to mention TIRE MANAGEMENT.

I agree, tire changers and re-fuelers need jobs too! Where are us peasants going to find used crew fire suits at a discount to drive, eh I mean pose in?

For instance, when Renault forgot to attach Caterpillar's wheel nut a few years ago. That was awesome.
