I had a Quaife lsd on order, but I now just found out that they are on back order until November 28th. Does anyone know of a shop that has one sitting on their shelves right now? Or another good alternative that I would be able to get asap. This is for a D16z6.

 

Hmm I was going to buy one from Exospeed (SoCal) this week but am not going to after all. Try them if you have not already done so

 

you can get a Kaaz or a mugen unit as well?

not sure what their availability is, but i guess it depends on what car they're going into.

 

I tried to get a hold of exospeed a couple weeks ago and I couldn't for the life of me get a hold of them and their voicemail is full. I just tried to go to their site and that isn't working now. Are they still in business?

 

They are still in business I spoke with them on Thursday of last week. It is hard to get through but when you do (keep trying), speak with Wil.

 

Doesn't OBX make a sub-$400 helical LSD for the D16's?

Yes, and the limited feedback on the obx has actually been positive thus far. There was a guy in the all-motor forum with one on a built h22, IIRC...

As for Exospeed, there was post elsewhere mentioning that Wil just had a baby and one of the shop members recently left to explore other options, and they are setting up a new shop, so needless to say they are a little behind in the customer service department right now. A friend of of Wil's is stepping in part-time to help out with customer service.

Camp 1320 was who I was originally supposed to get it from but he doesn't have it in stock, so he is waiting on the backorder also now. I will try to get in touch with exospeed again.

I am not too enthusiastic about running a clutch style lsd. Has anyone had experience with running these? What is the perdormance a reliability like with them?
