This will be my 2nd track day, my first one was at SOW with Redline. Im debating whether i should go with NASA and go to Button Willow for my 2nd track day and learn from instructors or go with Speed Ventures and drive Horse Thief? I know i wont be doing events at Button Willow much since its such a far drive, but im debating... should i do it anyways for the seat time and learning more about my car and how to drive it?

I don't know your background, but if you haven't had instruction yet, you should definitely try to get some. Developing bad habits is easy and performing good ones is near impossible if you don't know what to do or know you are doing it.. .

speed ventures should have instructors, but buttonwillow > big willow > streets > horsethief
plus the nasa event is 2 days, and i think the sv ones are usually only 1 day

I definetly think you should come out to Buttonwillow with NASA.
Yeah it's far, but its the best track in socal. Load of fun, and the weather should be perfect
I'll be there, look for this Shitty looking black EG, and stop in and say hi.

Definately go to Buttonwillow. The most fun track in so-cal . Also if you drive a Honda, the knowledge gained from the Honda Challenge race group is very valuable. You will learn a lot more from BW than whorstheif in my opinion.
Come over to the HC garages in front. You will have a great time

It's all about the Happy Hour & pizza with NASA!
Great time to mix it up with everyone.
Don't forget to get a margarita from the 2-stroke blender.

are you guys talking about the october event, or the november event?
if it's the november event, i should have replaced my blown engine by then, and hope to be out there as well![](https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif)

well the commute this morning sucked. damn I5.
had a good time at the track despite missing the first session. first time on that track, interesting track, mostly flat. couldnt see the turns until i memorized it better. i gather once i get up there, a lot of it should be flat out too.
im glad i brought a tent and sleeping bag, even tho i didnt stay the night. the 2 hours of sleep after the drinks and waking up early in the morning helped a lot. made it back in 2.5 hours, going around the valley.
i think ill definately try to be there again november.

btw, the route i took up there was from 405, 118 west to moorpark, then some short mtn road up rt 23 i think it is, then 126 east. the truckers seemed to have figured out that route because i saw a bunch of them going the southern way at 7am.
i came back taking 23 to 101 to 405 instead on the way back.
gps FTW again!
