Default Axxis Ultimate for rear pads?

For the track I'm using HT10 up front has anyone used ultimates out back? Are they too much pad for the rear?

Really? I've had better luck with Ultimates out back. Were the Ultimates locking up more or something?

How do you like the ht10? I heard it's really hard on rotors.

mine have been fairly nice to rotors. i drive to and from races with them on and i autocross with them. they do wear the rotors more so when they are hot, but i havent seen any signs of extreme rotor wear in a year of using them. my spec-b's used to wear the rotors way more.

i've been running Ultimates on the rear of my car for about three years now.i have had a couple occasions where the rear(s) did lock at the end of the front straight at VIR with Azenis.overall i'm happy with them though.they've lasted great-one set of rotors, about 15 track events and 30K street miles.they're worn enough now that i'll need to replace them before the next track day,and the rotors are equally shot.

i have a set of Hawk HP-S to replace them with for a little less bite,so we'll see how that works.

i agree,i think.i've never really had any problems with the Ultimates in the rear, but i really don't need that aggressive of a pad back there.i got the HP-Ss for about the same price as a set of Auto Zone specials, but if it weren't for that deal i'd probably be getting cheapos for replacements.basically,as long as they can take the heat,i'm pretty sure that just about anything will work out back until you get on really sticky tires where you can use a better pad without worries of locking them up.

even on sticky tires, you want as little rear brake as possible. sticky tires=more braking force, more weight transfer, rear lock-up.
you may be able to get away with it on not an ef cause of the wheelbase.

What Front brake setups are you guys running. (stock or upgraded?)

I'm not racing w2w, but I'm running all GSR brakes, hydraulics and everything. I run Ultimates in the back and GT Sports in front on azenis and really feel like the braking is spot on.

I have never locked up the rears except in an emergency situation on the road after not driving the car for some time, forgetting how sensitive the pedal is compared to the S2000.

I like to brake hard and late, and the civic does it so well, but I've never experienced excessive control issues in the rear, nor have I experienced near lock in the rear. I feel like with a bit extra braking force in the front, the ultimates are ideal, though i wouldn't go anymore aggressive.

Take this with a grain of salt, as I'm still only an HPDE'r.
