Anyone else have problems with their lightweight battery?
I purchased a Dynabatt battery from http://www.performancedistributors.com. When it arrived I noticed the terminals were loose. In the box are instructions specifically saying not to tighten the terminals more than they already were tightened. Obviously terminals that can spin freely isn't how it's supposed to be. Anyone else have problems similar to this?
Basically how will I know how much to torque the terminals to?
TIA,
Reid

I'm guessing you got the 5575B model with the top posts? If that's what's loose, I'd say just tighten them so they aren't slack, 5-10 ft/lbs. They're probably loose since PD takes the normal battery with female threads and adds the top post adapters. They're just afraid of someone overtightening and breaking the male thread of the post in female side of the battery.
I found this gentleman's site, he did some great research on this topic, very enlightening:

Post how this setup is working for you, or email me with your experience. I'm interested in the practicality of this mod., Thx.

Awesome thread. I was about to go buy an Optima battery.
Looks like I might order the Hawker Genesis G16EP instead!

I too am interested in your lightweight battery. It's re-sparked my plans about relocating the battery to the trunk and switching to a lightweight one while I'm at it. With the smaller batteries can you keep the same about of volts as the stock battery? (I know NOTHING about volts/amps and such mumbo jumbo)

Whoa, I forgot I started this thread.
First of all, I am using the Dynabatt 5575B with the top posts which I purchased from http://www.performancedistributors.com through their online special. I'd recommend purchasing the Dynabatt through them.
I just tightened up the posts a bit before I installed the battery and everything was fine. I can't provide a very good review of the battery so far, but I've had no problems with it so far. It's installed in my 2000 ITR which is 100% stock and used exclusively for track events. I still have a radio, A/C, and power everything... in my track car.
I plan to purchase another Dynabatt 5575B for my daily driver (1992 Civic Cx).
