This clashes strongly with a red Ferrari driver's suit.
In all seriousness, Dr. Cortez used one of these years and years ago. Decent cheap alternative for the casual DEer who doesn't want to drop coin on $500-1000 worth of Nomex stuff. Though I guess you're SOL in this case if you don't wear a size "medium/short".

First off, China owns US debt of about $1.1 trillion. I'll let you guess what the U.S. is worth, but one economist Donald Marron placed the number half seriously at 1.4 quadrillion ($1400 trillion). So, if you were to place that value on the US, the Chinese own less than .1% of the US. Hmmm.
Thus, I don't think too many Americans will be given any orders from Mr. Jintao any time soon.

*shrug*. the ignorance displayed of some ppl here when it comes to things that are made in Taiwan or China is ridiculous.
China totally dominates the supply chain in many categories right now. USA can't compete in that aspect at all. If you know anything about supply chain management, then you would understand the reasons why.
And to all those who complain about cheap low end products, it is the result of capitalism and simple supply and demand. If there was no demand, there would not be a huge supply.
Who really cares about who owns what. That's all just a numbers game. As for USA vs. China, everybody knows China is growing leaps and bounds and will soon be challenging USA for #1 spot. Sooner rather than later...

Not sure about the rules here for linking to vendors. If you look for Chumpcar or Lemons driver safety packages you can get complete gear minus helmet for under $300 or some other packages including helmets for about $400.

What does that include exactly? Sounds like pretty good deals... I assume that means shoes, undershirt, underwear, head sock, socks, gloves, and a suit??

*face palm* I failed to notice the medium/short size until you pointed that out. All I saw was, ohh wow a nomex suit for $40... It does make me wonder what the regular price is. I think probably around $100. Still a great deal, assuming regular sizes can be had...

I was an Army UH-60 Flight Engineer for 10 years, and I wore the same stuff as the air force.
Would I use that in a race car??? Hell no! flash fire protection at the very very least.
It's only one layer unlike my 3 layer sparco.

Dirty, I realize that you get what you pay for especially when talking about safety gear. I was piggybacking on the comment about people that want to run every once in awhile not a dedicated track rat.
We also wore nomex when I was mech infantry. Bradley carrier teams and tankers wear nomex suits.
I'm somewhat confused on what makes the Air Force "elite"? lol

Here's a package for $420ish including a SA2010 helmet. Lot of my TT buddies use it.

This package is $295ish without a helmet.

Id never use any military coveralls be it flyers or infantry in a race car.
Seen too many burnt up people in tanks or aircraft where a flash fire occured, and they would have faired better if the clothing was better quality.
Thats from real life experience.
