Rust on Bottom of Door
Hey everyone,
Up here in Canada the salt is pretty thick on the road in the winter, and my poor old EJ6 sedan is getting quite rusty. It has the usual rusted-out rear quarter panels, but one thing I noticed recently is it has started to rust along the bottom inside edge of the doors, where the skin is tucked under and welded, say maybe half an inch up from the bottom. It is just started to come around to the outside and showing very minimally on the outside bottom as well.
Is there any way to fix this, or do I have to go with entirely new door shells? This summer I would like to do a decent body job and repaint, and I don't want to patch things only to have the rust come back through the new paint.
Thanks for any help!
