yea i feel your pain HOMEY! i have the same issue on my fifth gen. coupe both sides one side is bad but the other SIDE has this huge hOLE!!!!!! LOL i use electical tape to cover it since my car is black. like the other dude said get it fixed asap. one more thing take of that rubber insert in your rear panel that **** holds water and keeps it there that's one reason why the rust forms

And read This It's not a professional thing, but it's a good little DIY on how to remove the rust at home.

yea, cutting it out would be the best bet, but a good alternative is to grind down the entire area where the rust is, use naval jelly to get the microscopic bits out, lay epoxy primer, sand with 400 wet, then lay some good lightweight filler., the primer filler, sealer, then paint and clear. putting down epoxy primer underneath the bondo stops moisture from the heat of the bondo to rust again in that area.

but the best would to be to cut out a few inches above the rust and lay new metal.

The rubber thing is not needed. Its there for no reason. No good one anyway. Ditch it. Grind the rust off, put some filler, sand it smooth, epoxy primer, then paint. Its actually quite easy if its only a little spot like that.
