----- Project EJ2 ------
looks really good man, i am buying all my supplies now, are you using any small blocks? or just the long board sander you have pictured?
i bought a 19" board sander like the one you have on ebay, $30 shipped. now i just need to get the 2k high build primer and some more usc icing and i'll start on it.
you're going the dry route, how fast are you going through paper? i'm going to do it wet just because it's easier and won't kill the paper as quick.
good job man

basically just been using the long board without pressing on it, just letting it do its thing. i just push it back and fourth and try to do X patterns and then up and down a few times. after i think i got it fairly smooth, i use a can of black primer and lightly mist over the sanded area. i then just keep sanding really lightly to show the low/high spots but thankfully there wasn't anything major on the first coat, so i think the second/third coat covered it up really good. now im just going over it 320 dry.
for a job like this done in a garage by myself i don't think there should be any complaining. you never know what its gonna look like until you throw that last coat of clear coat on, but im confident that it will be good.
wont get to overhaul on the project this weekend like i did last week but by the following weekend, i dont see a reason why this thing shouldn't be close to if not ready for the basecoat.

with the 120 i was able to do all of the primered parts (both quarters, trunk, and roof) without changing the pads. (keep in mind i just got the sticky round pads (they come in a big roll of 100 or smaller box of 50) and i just stick 3 of them on the bottom of the board sander) the 320 gets clogged a little faster dry, but this primer isn't like the **** out of the spray can. if you're used to that kinda primer, this doesn't even clog it as bad so i would try it dry first just because it's less of a mess/hassle.
Paint the muthafucka Champ White just to **** Mike off.
I think that'll be funny as ****.
Hell, I might even pay for the paint if you'd actually do it.

umm no. when i painted my coupe i didn't use it and the bumpers came out just fine....and there wasn't a lot of "flexing" once they're mounted anyway.
lots of updates to the car....just haven't had the time to post..or im just lazy...

Flex additive helps when highway driving. Those little rocks that cick up and hit your bumper won't make cracks if you add some flex. Without it the clear is too strong and won't allow the rocks to just bounce off. Sure with flex added you still get stone chips but not as bad as with it.
