Default Painters, chime in!

Alright, I have yet to paint a engine block, and considering it on my car. But im a little in doubt if the paint will hold up. It would be sprayed with Dupont Chromabase system, and chromaclear used. Our booth is not getting finished being put up for a few more months, so it will not be baked.

I would really be afraid and highly doubt I would paint the head due to the temps near the exhaust ports. Seems it would get too hot and make the paint lift....no?

How about with the block, the temp is going to be lower, but then again with that topmount manifold swinging down close to the block would that also make a issue with the paint?

I have painted many engines with regular automotive paint and never had a problem. I have also used Dupont chromabase as well. Just make sure you use a etch primer first. There is always a chance that it will get to hot and peel next to the exhaust ports but the block should be just fine.
