EG Quarter Panel Warped

EG Quarter Panel Warped
Hey HT,
I have been trying to restore my quarter panels with fixmyrust panels and it seems that somewhere along the way the panel warped (probably either when i was tacking or grinding and it got too hot).
So question is, do I order a new panel and redo the whole process again or try to just cover it up with fiberglass filler?
Also, the I have been working on the wheel wells on the other side and it seems that there is some surface rust underneath that I didnt catch. Should i cut it out or grind and spray some rust inhibitor (like por-15 or something)?

The panel is severely warped. It looks like you are going to have to cake bondo on there.
You are gonna be blocking that panel for a long time to get the shape right.
The bondo will crack in a few years too.
If you fiberglass over the huge dip in the panel, it may be better and wont crack in a few years. Gonna be a lot of blocking still.
The wheel well looks like hell. You should cut it out and weld new metal in there.
Goodluck.

thanks for the reply, would you suggest I cut out the portion that is warped in and try to shape another piece of sheet metal or should i just cut the entire panel out and redo it
as for the wheel wells, i will try to wire wheel the surface rust and see how deep it is and replace the metal accordingly

Re: EG Quarter Panel Warped
It is up to you how much work you want to get into.
If you replace the warped metal, and it warps again while welding you'll back to the point you're at now. Nice job lining it all up though!
I would suggest replacing the whole 1/4 panel.
There will be less areas to bondo with a different 1/4 panel. And it will have the right shape. Won't be block sanding and shaping that much.
