Back to Black!!
Okay HT i have a 91 crx si and i live in The hot ol Texas. im going to be re painting my car this summer and wanted to fit up some of the faded parts. i just took the cowl off but what would be the best to restore the black? i have some kyrlon plastic paint but im not sure if thats the best to use. and how should i prep the plastic?

When i painted my bumpers i used this stuff, i think it was called "plastic prep" or something that effect. It was clear and spray on, and just allowed the paint to adhere to the plastics better. I think it minimizes cracking due to flexing too.
I'd suggest a satin black for trim pieces, i think that gloss black looks cheap.

Sp33 (as usual) is correct. Gloss black will look like garbage and you will regret it. I tried flat on a piece before, and it looked like I was priming. Use the satin. Parts stores also sell "bumper paint." Buy in satin black. I think it has a mild flexing agent pre-mixed with it. It's in a normal spray can, ~$5/can.
