I did mine with BBQ paint. Its cooler now so I don't care. During the summer (upper 90's, 100% humidity) it was a little sluggish, but not much. I don't think that had to do with the intercooler being black though. I think it looks tight. You would be better getting an unpolished piece, cost less too.

I know a guy that anodizes aluminum and works with aluminum or a living...Many people come to him for anodizing aluminum heatsinks for aesthetics...he also anodizes computer cases...
I'm not sure if his skill would transfer over to intercoolers? They are aluminum completely right?

So i should get what BBQ paint of heat resistant paint and how much does these bottles cost like 5 10 bucks. Are these cans just any regular can from kragen or pep boys and things like that. These black intercoolers really helps you make your car as sleeper as can be in my book especially with black cars. You don't want to intemidate people anyways.

Isn't BBQ paint heat resistant? Wouldn't it coat the aluminum and prevent it from doing it's job?
I wouldn't do anything but anodize the aluminum. Or, put a grill on to cover the site of the intercooler.

I am not totally sure how much it costs... but it could also depend on where you go. A automotive shop would charge you up the a$$ because they think it is something "specialized" and all.
My dad owns a machine shop and has stuff anodized all the time by industrial shops. I'm planning on anodizing mine. I imagine that it'd come to around $100-150, but I haven't got an actual quote yet... need an intercooler first.
I'll probably be doing it in a month to month and a half, so I'll let you know and see the results.
