My '98 Cavalier Z24...
hey guy, new here. wanted to introduce myself and show what i got. figured since its not a honda that it belongs here.
dont have a honda but they really interest me and maybe one day i could get one. who knows. id love me a 2000ish electron pearl blue civic si coupe!!!
anyways this is my 98 cavalier z24. purchased it in 2005 and have done lots to it since. these pictures are 3 years old though, unfortunately. the car has been up on stands since october 2008 getting some much needed suspension upgrades and a completely new, pretty much completely built engine.

If you want a em1 si then why are you dumping money into this car? You could have bought a em1 by now.....
Its clean car but auto?

i never said i "wanted" one, just said maybe some day if i went honda that'd be the one is all.
thanks man and yeah. auto but its more of a cruizer/show car than anything. just a car i can clean up and drive around on nice days basically so not really worried about max max max performance with it.

Ignore the retards man. I would never own or mod one of these cars, but yours is really clean. It looks like you could eat off of it. What's done to the motor? And what kind of power did the car make?
Keep doing your thing.

Re: My '98 Cavalier Z24...
lol thanks man. well i never did dyno the car but basically the engine in the pic there was basically only a stock rebuilt but had cams, bolt ons, and a tune. probably made 145whp and maybe 140tq at most i would think due to the auto. car is heavy at 3000 with me in it LOL so it was a turd. did have a nitrous express wet kit with the 75 jets, though.
the new engine im building has quite a bit, hoping for around 200whp/190tq all motor to start with then go turbo down the road. will always have nitrous.

Re: My '98 Cavalier Z24...
em1 is the chassis code for a 99-00 civic si. its just a term that the honda community uses to shorten the name.
em1= 99-00 civic si
eg= 5th gen civic hatch
ek= 6th gen civic hatch
ep3= 7th gen civic si
ect. ect.
do i like your car? not really. can i respect how clean youve kept it? absolutly. im just saying, you would have a whole lot more fun modifying an em1 than modifying an automatic cavalier, and you would get more respect if that means anything to you. i mean i drive a 2003 honda element, so its not like im the coolest kid on the block lol

Yeah man ignore all the smart *** replies, I think your cavalier is super clean and very well done
A friend of mine has one and hes running mid to low 12s on a stock block. Very cool car, good to see a cavalier owner interested in hondas!

Re: My '98 Cavalier Z24...
better how though? i understand opinions and all but this car has the same capabilities as any other so i guess i dont quite get what you mean?
if you mean better as in being able to buy 50 different options of one part and an aftermarket the size of the moon then sure... i really dont mind it though as i prefer to do custom stuff and really, the aftermarket isnt bad you just have to pick and choose wisely is all. well that, and dig dig dig for stuff. fortunately ive been around for nearly ten years and have aquired anything i could want, really.
but either way id still like the EM1 but i could get one easily they arent that spendy, ive seen most go for around $6-8000 in great shape. but honestly there's no way id ever stop on these just to sell out for a "better" car. if i do get an EM1 it will have a home right next to this car lol

nope just good online friends with him. met him at two of the j-body bashes in ohio. i love his car, its motivating to say the least.
mid 12's on a bone stock engine with nothing done except a tiny cam upgrade (that is mismatched, even)

Im not a Cavalier fan in the least, but I will say the car is extremely clean. That being said, the carbon pieces around your sirius unit and vent look like ***...

Twin cam ftw! Ignore the haters. There just jealous your 4cyl has torque.
Ive got a w41 Quad4 in my L body If it was stock it would make 190hp
160lbft. I love hondas but there not the only thing out there that you can have fun with.
