FYI for all the MD residents - VEIP Emissions changes
FYI for all the Maryland people. As of August 1, 2009. Non-OBD cars do not have to do the dynamometer testing, only idle and gas cap testing. Here's a link to the release on the MVA website:

I think all obd1 people should easily pass idle testing, even the turbo guys as long as the car is tuned correctly. Then again this voids the "too low to get on the rollers" excuse.

Re: FYI for all the MD residents - VEIP Emissions changes
Finally my Jeep past last month from failing the Nox test to many time. My dad took my Jeep in for emission and past and both of us was surprise and my dad was surprise that they did not run the rollers. I was confuse like why they did not use the rollers. I dump allot of money over the last few years trying to lower that NoX test.

I only had idle and gas cap around this time last year. Kinda weird. they asked if I can make it on the rollers and I said yeah even though it was so low. I have a stock CX so emissions is nothing.

bringing this back...just went to have my complete stock del sol tested at the owings mills location. rollers are all gone, gas cap and idle test only (had to hold car at 2500rpm for 30 sec as well).
my only fear is that the dude actually used a mirror to check for a cat. now im worried that when i take my EG in i will get failed before they even let me idle test. (3" exhaust, no cat). now i kinda miss the dyno testing and too low excuse. i will update when emissions come back around on the hatch
EDIT: does anyone think i can claim my flex section as a cat? im assuming they arent that dumb?
