Default Shrouds necessary?

I just ordered my hid parts to do my retro-fitting on my eg. Are shrouds necessary or help any? I just want to know that way I can order a pair for my car before I do my retro-fit.

depending on what type of projectors you're using, you don't need them, but having one really completes a true retrofit. Anyone can simply mount a projector in their housings, but IMO, the retrofit isn't complete. Shrouds is what makes it even more unique

thats it? so the projector itself is the one that directs the light and gives it the cutoff right?

That's right, the projectors are what directs the light evenly across the street, the shrouds make the lights look complete. Like I mentioned before, anyone can simply mount a projector in a light and call it a day, but shrouds are what completes a retrofit to make it unique

Thanks for the info prelude1897. I ended up getting clear shrouds with my projectors to complete the retro-fit.
