HID high beam hook up?
i have a set of catty XLR bi exnon and im not sure on the high beam wiring, Theres 4 wires, 2 for the ballas and 2 for the high beam solenoid. read in a thread somewhere that you can burn it up somehow, anyone got any ideas
red wire coming out of the solenoid goes to the positive high beam, black goes to the shared negative.
Positive low beam goes to the ballast, share negative goes to the ballast as well.
Positive low beam goes to the ballast, share negative goes to the ballast as well.
I'd rather use a relay harness with a double relay and a diode going from the high beam section to the low beam. That way, when you have your high beams(shield) activated, you will have power to your low beams. Whenever dual-filament systems, the high beams are activated, there will be no power to the low beams. In a case like that, if there's no diode to give the low beams power, whenever you flash your high beams, your solenoid will be activated but your low beams will turn off thus the ballast will get no power.
Very true, where would i find a relay of the sort, possiably radio shack and what would i be looking for, everyone just says get a relay. Well what type?
