Sealed Ballast, OK?
Working on my retro, had a question.
I just made my ballasts 200% water proof. Took a zip lock bag, placed ballast in bag, made necessary slits and sealed them. Placed a Silica packet to absorb any moisture that may creep in.
Question i had, is it ok for the ballast to get no air flow? Like over-heat or something?

Hmm.... thats an interesting way of sealing it. I"m not sure I would do that b/c I would be afraid of it melting and ruining the ballast, but then again I haven't used my HID's enough to know if they get hot at all, so I don't really know if they would over heat and melt it.
Well do the ballasts get hot? If they get hot then yes the bag will melt and stick to your ballast and therefore make it smell and look like crap, but more than likely won't effect your ballast b/c its not getting inside it. However, like above, I don't think you need to worry to much about water proofing. If you're really worried about it you can buy a water proofing agent to spray on it or w/e, and then you can place them inside your fender between your fender and the metal engine bay side wall like I did.
