HID upgrade questions
I have low beam conversion and was impressed instantaneously the difference. Now I want my high beams converted. Would 55W ballasts be overkill? I don't want to eternally blind on coming traffic. What do you think?
55 watt is way over kill but for hight beams what the hell.
just remember turing them off and on is really bad for them, so they dont really work well in high beams inless your in the country and can run them for long periods of time.

As of now, my low beams are brighter than my high beams, and I purchased what I though to be the brightest incandescent bulbs. Also, when I drive at night, it is in the country mostly, so when I use the high beams, I rarely need to turn them down. Does the igniter ware when continuouly switched on and off?
What are brighter than Luminics bulbs?

Well I don't need to retro fit, I went with 35W High and low. I got green low beams which just look sweet. They are pretty bright, and I may not need high beams, I rarely do to begin with when I first got HIDs. Thanks Again.
I can see better 450 down the road than you can. And every sign or relfetor stands out more with a colored bulb than white, which can be seen from 2 miles away. Ricer? Maybe, but I didn't get them to be cool or to show off, or pretend my car is fast, I got them to see at night. I know a computer programmer, and he found research that the color that is easiest to see in the fog is green. However that does not mean they cut through fog, cause they don't. It is just for people to notice you.
Well, I ain't gettin no 75W ballast any way. I ain't that mean. But I do want better illumination in the fogs. 55W with them pointed down is what I'll do. Plus the high beams, only 55W, cause I discovered something interesting.
I tested a 100W halogen versus 55W side by side. The 100W, seemed to be around 30% brighter. When when plugged in the car, there can no difference in light output. Very odd, so I'm thinking that the circuits have a built in current shun regulator. Cannot be voltage regulator, cause I tested them on 12V out side the circuit. Maybe the wire only supplies so much current and the 100W can handle more befroe burning out. A 75W kit HID would not be fully utiliezed if this is true.

Thanks everyone for input. I have a bunch of stock bulbs in case I ruin them, plus I will get some with alifetim warranty.
