HID Help..
Im looking at purchasing a set of HID's for my 2000 Honda Civic EX.
I was wondering; is the 4300K kit the most used? I'm looking for a bright white with a tint of blue... Im not sure if that has to do with the bulbs either.
Also do i have to buy a seperate for bright, and dims?

For my Civic I went with a 6000K retrofit. The kits I heard that are plug-n-play aren't so good, don't know why but thats just what i've heard. And yes the color does have to do with the bulbs -
Yellow:
1500 k Candlelight
2700-2900 k Yellow painted fog halogen bulbs
-------------------------------
Yellowish white:
3200 k Sunrise/sunset
3200 k Premium H7 non painted halogen bulb
3400 k 1 hour from dusk/dawn
-------------------------------
White:
4100 k Philips/Osram OEM HID D2S
5500 k Bright sunny daylight around noon
----------------
Blueish white
5500-5600 k Electronic photo flash
6000 k Philips Ultinon HID D2S
6500-7500 k Overcast sky
-----------------
Blue:
9000-12000 k Blue sky
-----------------
Purple:
28000 Northern sky
12000-30000 k Ultra Violet light (black light)
thats a pretty comprehensive list from HIDplanet.com (great site for all your HID needs).

4300k is what most oem cars like bmw, merc, lexus, etc use. When you see one of these cars and their hids seem just a little bit mor blueish than normal, that usually means the oem bulb "colorshifted" which is where after i think its 100 hours of use? the bulbs become bluer and the K rating is the equivalent to about 5000k. Hope that helps. There is no "most common color" people buy for a kit because everybody that usually gets a kit just get it for the blueish purplish tint cuz they think it looks cool. If you want the best performance out of your hids/light output then go with 4300k.
I also have a 2000 civic ex and I went with 6500k and they have a nice light blue or kinda neon blue color. They really look nice with the yellow fog lights underneath!
