Needles are sprayed with UV clear coat, I have two 4" UV cold cathodes (with the protective covers removed in the down light/flooder position). I originally painted them blue to match the blue leds from before but now the blue adds a contrast to the red I use at night.

Best place for red 194 led's is ebay, most people locally don't carry stuff of that type (I'm the only person I know of who knows of and had a large stock of leds and led replacement bulbs)...
