Im buying a mcculloch hid kit soon.(with retrofit)
alot of people use oem 4300k but im thinking about getting 5000k or 6000k
undecided
i know the 6000k has blue tint but the 5000k is crystal white.

5000k will be slightly blue, 43-4500k will be closer. I had 5300ks and they were what i'd call "ice", it was a bluish white. You'd get a better "white" out of an OEM 43-4500k bulb.
I would NOT get a 6000k bulb, i'd get the 5000k if you were determined to not get OEM. You lose light output the higher you go, so 5,000k would be a better balance of color and performance.

Re: (Genuine Rolla)
8000k's 8) Diamond Blue
I went for the look rather then the light output. But im happy with the light output. I think the light out put is like 3100 lumens [not sure] and its definitely better than stock halogens.

maybe not even 2000. Philips Ultinon 6000K bulbs are rated at 2400 lumens, compared to 3200 for 4100K.
Toshiba HIR 9012 bulbs trimmed to fit a 9006 application probably put out more lumens than an 8000K HID bulb, and they only cost $25 each and draw the same amount of current as a regular 9006 halogen bulb.
Oh yeah, I'm using OEM Philips 4300K D2S bulbs in Hella bi-xenon projectors. The bulbs are nearly 4 years old so I'm sure they have color shifted above 5000K by now.

I didn't know they color shifted over time.
