I realize this is a very old post. But i find myself with the same issue. I have a 04 Accord K24 i want to turbo the car aswell but with more miles on it and a auto tranny. Since the car will be my daily driver id like to keep the auto tranny but i would like to know how much WHP i could put to it and be reliable.

The automatic transmissions cannot handle any significant increase in power... a dedicated trans fluid cooler will help, but the auto trans will be your limiting factor. This is the reason that I asked the OP which transmission.
