whats up
So I got into cars about 2 years ago and I have changed an engine twice, head gasket, rack and pinion, and other stuff. I used to hate hondas because of how many people rice them but since I learned how resiliant they are, I actually like them now.( I drove with a blown head gasket and a dead cylinder for months, I even pulled a dodge stealth out of a yard with those problems. that wins my respect) anyways now im ready to step it up and im wanting to turbo a car but I want a honda engine and i dont want a honda body... I have seen too much rice and i want to do a swap into something else. Im just wondering what to swap into that wont be a nightmare, I really like rx8 bodies but from the looks with it being rwd and such a small engine bay it would be a nightmare. I love older cars but the weight would defeat the point of the turbo, I also refuse to work on v8's. I do like del sol's so maybe I should just get one. Im open to suggestions on bodies and maybe where to look for one. I currently have a d16 engine in my garage, its got bad piston rings and valves were not sealing so I took it out and apart, not sure if its a good candidate or if I should sell it for something else. Im still learning and I dont know too much about the different honda engines and their quirks. Whatever I choose im going to rebuild for reliability and power. Im only looking to get about 300hp out of the build, I would like something that is snappy but reliable since it will be a daily. Also how much does running low compression pistons w/ turbo reduce gas milage? Please share links and roast me for my incompetence and laziness.
Im just a yt mechanic with unlimited persistence and a love for turbo noises.
