New timer to Honda, otherwise experienced engine builder...
So, i sold a BMW E34 with a M30B35 Turbo build, and got a EJ8 Civic and some money for it...
The EJ8 had no motor in it, but is originally a USDM D16 Automatic...
So what i have to install in it is;
-B20B engine block
-Carillo conrods (HN-B18>-65394S)
-CP 11.5:1 Pistons (SC7117)
-Stock B16A2 head
-LS ARP con-rod bolts
-ITR ARP studs
-MLS headgasket
-ACL bearings
-B16 22T waterpump (isn't that supposed to be 22teeth, bc mine has 19teeth???)
-ITR timing belt
-B16 oil pump (do i have to upgrade this?)
-Magnetic drain plug (for break in purposes, i guess i'll keep using it after the break in cycle.)
-NGK V-power BKR7E spark plugs
-Hondata S300 ECU & 310cc injectors
-S9B Transmission (need input on this, i'm thinking that it has a better gear ratio being 4.27 compared to 4.44)
This is what i'll be starting out with, note that these parts have already been bought, i have yet to buy a girdle and i'm thinking i should probably add a block guard aswell...
I'm thinking about adding these items in the next year or so:
- Brian Crower - Stage 2 cams
- Brian Crower - Dual Valvespring kit
- Brian Crower - Adjustable Cam Gears
- Skunk2 - Intake Manifold
- Skunk2 - Throttle Body
Probably should get bigger injectors too ?
I'm also thinking i should upgrade the ignition to a COP (induvidual coil on plug) system...
Any suggestions are welcome, love to hear you guys out, this is definately not my division...
My last build was a 6BT Cummins, before that i've been building BMW engines, ranging from M20s to S62s...
