Default New from Irvine, CA

I have owned several Hondas.
2011 Accord LX.
1999 Accord LX
2008 Civic LX.
1979 Civic CVCC wagon.
Motorcycles too.
1972 Minitrail 70.
1972 CL100.
1976 XL175.
1982 XL250.
1976 CB360T
1997 XR400R
And some Gardening equipment
GCV160 AWD mower
1983 F200 rototiller.

I’ve had good luck with my Hondas. I’ve rebuilt some of the engines and have been really impressed with their engineering. Very well thought out with maintenance friendly design.

I spend most most of my time working on a collection of Mercedes Diesels. My Hondas don’t break and I use them to drive me to the junkyard and auto parts store to get Mercedes parts.

Till now. I’m here because I changed oil on our K24z2 powered 2011 Accord and out came a big handful of metal. I couldn’t believe it. The car only has 60,000 miles on it and I’ve followed the maintenance monitor and used Mobil 1 0w20 since I got it. Looks like fragments of an oil scraper ring. But I’m unsure. I’ve posted up pictures in the Accord/crosstour sub forum. I don’t see it yet but I think the mods will put it up after reviewing it.

Hoping somebody has seen this before and knows what to do. Ignore, cry, swap engine, drop Pan, rebuild etc.

thanks.
