Help! undecided new guy
Hello all! New guy here, germ isn't just my forum name. People call me Germ in the real lifes. I have a dilemma on my hands, looking for input. Here it is.
I originally wanted a early 90's civic hatch, I like hatchbacks and I like the way the 91 looks. I wanted to do a engine/trans swap with a k20a2. But it will cost around 6-7k just for the engine and all the necessary parts to do the swap. Not only that, but there's legality issues(California). Alot of labor will go into that as well.
Enter the Acura RSX type-s. The car is decent looking, comes with a k20a2 or a k20z1 and is still a hatch. I can find one for between 6k-9k with relatively low miles.( the cost of parts to do a engine swap alone) But the RSX weighs about 600lbs more than a Honda Civic hatch. If I choose the RSX there's a whole other choice to make.
The 2002-2004 comes with a k20a2, and the 2005-2006 comes with a k20z1. There seems to be more parts available for the a2, but the z1 makes more power? I can't even get kpro for the z1, it's for the a2 and you have to buy an adapter.(more money).
Here's what I want out of the car
Daily drive
Fun to drive
power(would like to reach 300hp straight motor some day)
Attractive looks.
I currently drive a 1991 Geo Metro LSI, lol.
