Yes, they custom make shocks/struts for all sorts of vehicles, they are made in the UK.

Just look up GAZ Shocks on the internet.

I'm a bit confused here. How bad is the stock suspension of the Insight? Are owner's reporting a problem with road noise transference, sloppy handling, etc? Is this malady being caused by the added weight of the batteries? Or, are you simply proving an O.E.M. solution for worn suspension components?

Basically the OEM rear Honda shocks are $150 a piece and this car 14 years old. I wanted to lower my little daily driver and improve it's handling and fun to drive ability on my own. Luckily for me Ground Control prototyped the coilover sleeves with me and they now sell them.

I got GAZ shocks in the UK to custom make rear adjustable shocks for $77 a piece plus shipping thanks to some local owners in the UK for some prototyping.

Now my fellow Insight buddies can have a fun handling 70 HP hybrid and build it themselves.

Just a note to this very relevant yet old thread...... I just ordered my GC set up for my insight but they did me a favor, I am using RSX front struts so they are sending me a modified parts lists so I can use the same spring rate as their normal Insight kit. costs the same (just under $500 including bumpstops). Im using Koni Yellows up front (adjustable/inserts/$356) and GAZ rears (adjustable/$240) so just over $1000 for some pretty good gear and I can always swap the springs for cheap since they are the standard CG diameter.

No, it isn't an upgrade, it is a modification of the parts lists, its up to you to figure out what you need. This thread isn't what is helping people but the people are helping themselves.

Oh man I can't wait either, I will have all parts by next week and should have them installed and car will roll again, I need to make a measurement on axles and besides a load of unfamiliar wiring (fit) and building my first intake manifold are the major jobs to do.

Wow, no need to be a douche about it. I prototyped this system to help people out who wanted a better handling Insight, but I guess this thread is no longer does.

OK man but you are making posts only about this thread being a help, that is no help, also there are many threads on the subject...... so I guess your right this and all threads do help. But you are wrong about the front shocks because GC makes none, the are only splitting up the kit for me. you are confusing me so Im sorry.
