Default z6 head with y7 block

ive built up my z6 head and block{y7} the z6 has a z6 camshaft and stock cam gear. and the y7 block has stock crank and pulley. i line both the cam up to tdc and crank to tdc. and im throwing codes cylinder position sensor and tdc sensor. ive replaced the ecu with p06 maps cuz i have no vtec yet. but it bogs out and runs like **** and doesnt idle very wells. it feels like it has 20hp tops and around 2000rpm it wants to die. so do i need an adjustable cam gear and how much do i retard or advance it? anyone that has done this before please let me know ive been trieing to get it to run for weeks.

okay I am assuming you have the following:
Z6 Head, Z6 camshaft, Z6 cam gear
Y7 Block, Y7 Crank Pulley

set your cam to TDC like this:

The z6 head/cam/dizzy is supposed to sync up with the p28/p06 maps at 16 degrees BTDC.

HOWEVER, the timing marks on the y7 (or any 96-00 D-series) pulley are at 12 degrees BTDC.

You can either bust out a protractor and make a mark 4degrees away from the timing mark on the y7 pulley (or 16 degrees away from TDC mark). Or use a dialback timing gun and dial in 16 and set IGNITION timing based off of the TDC mark on the crank pulley.
