Yet another conversion question
Hi. I got a 1995 civic with a h22a engine. I brought it as a non runner with a load of looms in the back. And none on engine. Using the old civic loom and a injector resistor box. It won't run. It tries to. This is what I've checked.
Checked timing, checked fuel pressure, checked for spark. Fuel is getting into engine as plugs are wet. Ive put the distributer and ecu on another car and it runs. I've used a obd computer and I've got a map sensor code. I've put the map sensor on another car and that car still ran so I don't think it is that. It even ran without it.
These are the questions I have.
1, will the O2 sensor unplugged. Stop it from running?
2, what will happen if the injector resistor box was wired up wrong?
3, is there any ideas what to check. I'm thinking it a wiring loom issue.
Many thanks
Gareth

Re: Yet another conversion question
I never really liked the idea of running a resistor box but that is personal preference. I'd source out some saturated injectors (yours are peak and hold) to simplify the wiring. But if you must, follow this guideline:

Now, with the other problems... the o2 sensor not being plugged in won't create issues aside from a check engine light for initial startup, but I don't know what ECU you're running or how. As for wiring, similar to my advice on the injectors, its better to start off fresh and as simple as possible. If you're unsure of the quality of the harness, take it out, inspect it, repair as required or replace, then try it all again. Wiring sucks but H22's are not that complicated overall.
