Wiring Problem! HELP!
I am putting a 99-00 Civic Si engine into a 1996 Civic HB CX and I am having problems with the wiring. The car will start up but wont idle, if I give it a lil gas it will surge up and down. I am pretty sure I f'ed up some if the wiring around the intake manifold, but not 100% sure. I also have a vacuum line that goes off the back of the intake manifold that has no where to go and I was wondering if I can get some help with that. Thanks. I also have pics of the whole process as well.

Heres is the throttle body and how I placed the plugs. Notice I have one without a home. I am using the stock cx engine harness and I added wires for the vtec and knock and pressure switch.

Last but not least the plug on the bottom side back of the intake manifold. The plug didnt match off of the stock cx engine harness so I used a plug off of a 00 Si engine harness to make it work. Not sure at all if this correct, as you can see I just twisted the wires together for now.

I know there is a vacum line that goes for the cruise control...Im not a 100% sure if thats it but it may be. Also what ecu do you have and what CEL are you throwing? The vacume hose maybe one of the reasons why your not idleing right. If you dont have cruise control then just plug up the hole in the intake mani. Let us know what CEL you have going.

Not sure of the check engine light. I am running a p30 ECU and I have a obd2a-obd1 convertor hooked up to the ECU.

If your running a OBD 1 ecu with a OBD 2 engine harness then some wires may not be needed. I know the knock sensor is not going to be used, and probly some other sensor. You should run the code to see what CEL your throwing to pin point the problem.

By the ecu there is a plug with two wires. You need to jump those 2 wires. Get a paper clip and just stick it between the 2 wires....and it will jump the ecu. Then look at your CEL and count how many times it flashes. The amount of flashes will be the code number and then post it up so I can see what it is.

Re: Wiring Problem! HELP! (ultimatehonda)
LOL I knew how to jump it. I must have been going nuts or something. I knew I would come back to this post and you would have already posted how but I already have the codes. I have three codes im throwing: 10-IAT Intake Temperature Sensor, 13-BARO Atmospheric Pressure Sensor, and 21- VTEC Solenoid. VTEC is not a problem and I knew I would have that because I havent ran the vtec wire into the harness yet. Thanks

I have pinpointed the problem to the IAT which connects to the intake which I also havent hooked up. I have an AEM cold air intake so I dont think I use that anyway. The last code I have left is the BARO which is the atmospheric pressure sensor but Im stumped on that one.

Re: Wiring Problem! HELP! (JToolz)
Ok i heard if the BARO sensor comes on which is 13. They say the ECU is bad since the BARO is located inside the ECU. So what I tried is taking off my OBD2a-OBD1 conversion harness and hooked up the engine harness to the stock Honda civic P2E ECU and pulled the codes. I recieved the same number 10 which is the intake temp sensor which I expected to get because I have no air intake assembly on the car at all. But I also recieved number 14 which is the IAC, the idle air control valve. Any suggestions? The car starts and if you give it a lil gas it will run but surge up and down up and down and it wont idle. Thanks
