Where can I get a rebuilt H22a block? (HMOTORSONLINE.COM SUCKS!)
About 3 months ago I purchased a motor from hmotorsonline.com. When I first installed the motor into my Civic Hatchback I noticed the oil light was on. But I had figured it was a loose connection or something. After the first week the oil light turned off, which was up until about a 3 weeks ago. The oil light came on and it made this weird thumping noise. So I whipped out my stelthoscope and noticed it was coming from the block and not the tranny. The noise was getting louder expecially when I pushed in the clutch. Well anyway, I took off the oil pan and so on until I got the crank bearings out! Come to find out my crank was eatin through and my bearings were toast! I always checked my oil. THE MORAL TO MY STORY IS HMOTORSONLINE.COM SUCKS, AND I'M PISSED OFF THAT THEY GAVE ME A BUNK MOTOR! I GIVE THEM A BIG FAT . I was wondering if any of my fellow HT members knew of a place online that sells Rebuilt h22a blocks.

dude, you bought a USED motor, did you call Steve yet? You should be trying to resolve this with him instead of talking smack. Your oil light stayed yet you drove it like that...... nice going ********.

O.k. imagine a big train car sized crate, being delivered on a ship, full of jdm motors. That is what places like HMO buys. They are all used and from japan. None of these motor places can go over, drive the damn car, pick the motor, pull them out and have it shipped here. HMO is the best honda motor importer in the U.S.A. and if you have any problems you need to call him right away. They give you all the sensors, clean them, comp test them before they sell them. This is all you can ask, except HMO takes it a step further, if something is wrong he replaces it. If you do not contact him then it cannot be fixed and is your bad not his.

Drive with oil light on = no!
Im with steve! He is the best Importer for honda motor in the us and the price is great!! I purchased 2 motors from him. All i replaced only a timing belt. Compression is the same as it was 9 months ago. Never had to rebuild motor!
Startup warranty--You started it and it started the rest is your problem!

Re: (andyjt)
dude, you should have called BigMan Steve right away. He would have settled everything, with as little cost to you as possible. Please, consult with someone, before you start talking smack. Steve supplied my H22A at a dirt-cheap price, and I had a bad IAT ($117, from Honda), and Steve sent me a new one from Honda ASAP. He rocks.
BTW, driving with oil light on = DEATH!!!!

Re: (CWestAccord)
All I can say is that you saw the oil light and didn't properly diagnose the problem just because you had oil in the motor doesn't mean it's going anywhere. you should of put A oil pressure gauge on that motor as soon as you saw the light

me or my friends have never had a problem with hmotors. Heck the tps was broke he sent me a new one. I broke the knock sensor he sent me a new one. Steve actually cares about his customers and has a very get reputation. You should have called him as soon as the oil light came on.

I would contact Anthony at AV Engineering http://www.av-engineered.com and talk to him. He is pretty much the specialist in H series performance.

What next drive around with no water..............and it's the importer's fault that sleeve cracks.
Seriously, though if you "REALLY" had enough oil in it the whole time, wouldn't you think there might be a oil pressure problem and you probably shouldn't drive it until the problem is diagnosed? Whatever the problem was Steve would have most likely helped you out as all these people have described.

Re: Where can I get a rebuilt H22a block? (Rad Racing)
How can I get in touch with this Steve fellow? I installed a b16a in a customer's 91 hatch and something in the transmision came through the casing. (window below the diff). My customer bought the swap from HMO and paid extra for the lsd. HMO installed the lsd or just sent him a lsd tranny already mated up to his block. I am not saying it is their fault but the car has not been drove but about a mile. Just a test drive. Let me know.

Every time I called the Hmotors phone number, I get Steve right away. but, Hmotors doesn't mess with the motors, when they come off of the shipping container. they inspect them, ID the motor/tranny/ecu/everything, check everything again, crate them individually, and send them to the customer. If he bought a package that's with an LSD tranny, the car that had that engine had an LSD tranny already. Steve will help, whenever he can, as long as it's reasonable.
