weird idle problem with b18c1 in ek
00 b18c1 into 97 ek using 97 gsr ecu and dx harness
okay i searched already and most of the idle problems people have posted on in the past seemed easy enough to solve, not this one
the car will start up and idle fine for about a minute then it starts missing a little, then more missing and then finally it stalls...even if i try to give it a little gas when it begins to miss a bit it has no power and just misses even more and sputters
the only code i have is 10 for iat
i double checked the iacv connections even though i dont have a code and everything is fine, i covered the fit valve in the throttle body while it's idling and that didn't help, i double checked spark plug gap, all injector connections, wires , fresh fuel filter and I also put it a gallon of fresh 93 octane in (i had very little gas sitting in the car for about 3 months while it sat there) etc...i'm out of ideas, what else is there to try and check ?

something else i forgot to mention, the timing seems to be erratically jumping around quite a bit...maybe +/-4 degrees in the time period where it's idling fine and into where it stalls
service connector jumped however I know you're supposed to engage the fan once before you set timing...i can't get to that point though since it only idles for maybe a minute and a half at best. I also had the timing belt cover off and everyhting was lined up tdc. If the timing was really screwed up though why would the motor idle fine for almost a minue then start missing ? That's what's confusing me is the fact that the longer it's on the worse it gets, kind of makes me think its some kind of sensor or something...I'm totally open minded on this though b/c so far I can't figure it out. Thanks
