My 1992 si hatch weighed 2289 with the DOHC swpa in place.

If you've got an EX coupe though, I wouldn't waste my time.

well, the Si hatch "supposed" to weigh around 2300, but that varies - depends on weather it has a/c or not. Either way, unless uR gonna have a full-blown race car (drag OR autoX), then an extra 45 ponies under the hood won't hurt, lol. Anyways, ask urself and do what u wanna do, sides u got da dinero.

What I needed to know is if it's a DX coupe or not. I sold my Si hatch becuase even it was too heavy at 2289lbs.

I got a CX and the 200+lbs. less I'll be toting will surely improve the 13.9@100.97mph my old bitch-*** Si hatchback pulled on the stock B18C5.

WEIGHT kills man, and if you invest a lot of time and money into an EX coupe and all the other guys in CX, VX, and DX Civics are roasting you, then you will be super-pissed.

When I had a GS-R swap in my Si hatch, all my pals in their CX, VX, and DX hatches would beat my *** with their GS-R swaps with even LESS mods - all because of weight.

There is a reason a lot of people run the hatchbacks - it isn't a fuucking TREND damn it - I've had my old 1992 hatch since 1997 for Christ's sake - people want to be faster, so they get the lighter car.

I'm not one to say "go against the grain" just to do it - if you want to be slower in a heavier car and spend just as much money or MORE than the next guy, then so be it. I've seen TOO many slower coupes in my area to be able to honestly support a swap epsecially in an EX coupe. The DX would be okay, but the CX and VX hatchback guys will be knocking at your door with less horsepower and they will beat you silly with the same or more power.

Less money to go faster when you're pulling less weight.

THERE. Now do you get my point?

EX or DX? That's all I want to know.

And an equally prepared car like the one in the post right above mine in a Cx or VX hatchback would have still been quicker that day at that track with the same driver.

No way in hell you guys can say that more weight can drop your times in the 1/4 mile.

This whoile argument has also just been about drag racing. What about auto-x? More weight equals more brake fade and longer stopping distances too.

You can post all your fast coupes if you want to, but the fact is that if that were a hatch it would be quicker due to lighter weight.

i don't hate coupes, but later on down the road if this guy has the coupe and the hatches are beating him, he's gonna wish someone had told him straight up rather than be politically correct and say "run what you brung."
