mid-low 13's and anywhere from 97-102 traps. if you're interested only in 1/4 mile times...go h22 the tranny on the R is geared more for auto-x and what not. and you'll be turning insane RPM on the highway if you drive highway a lot.

oh, and yes, several people have b18c5 powered hatchbacks here just go ask in the EG forum... and there's 1 or 2 in EF's too i believe.

actually the R tranny is better for highway driving than GSR or B16 transmissions.
the final drive is better. keeps the rpm's lower.

to you saying 'RPM's'. it's ALWAYS just 'RPM'. and i wasn't comparing the R to other B series motors. i was comparing it to an H22. and last i checked, my friends GSR turns less RPM on the highway than an ITR does.

sorry man
my friends gsr runs at 4400@~75mph
im at 4000 rpm at the same speed (jdm b16, same gear ratios at a ITR)
http://tiiite.b16a.com/Bgears.htm - proof for me.

Actually you have it wrong. The final drive on the Type R is the same as an SI and GSR. And the gearing on the Type R makes the RPM higher than the GSR.

but the gears are longer on the GSR vs the Type R and the FD is the same. (US spec models)

How is this possible unless you have different size wheels.

ummmm...yeah i know!? you just said previously that the Type R has a LOWER cruising RPM than a GSR does....which is utterly false. and now you're saying that the GSR has a lower cruising RPM. which one are you sticking with?

I have a ITR power'd hatch (Had actually. The motor is ruin'd. In the process of buying another one it'll have Zero miles on it). It's fun to drive on the street. My highest trap speed was 99 (There are various reasons why it could have been better along with 1/4 mile times, I don't feel like getting into it.

If you want a good auto-X car and want to go N/A then get a ITR motor, but if you ultimately want boost start with a GSR motor. Either way you will be happy.

so what about the Si tranny I thought that was the best 1/4 mile tranny to have in your car!
